Patricia, The Bunker Family Association has information on Samuel and Aurelia, although it differs from what you have. I can only offer what we have and let you draw your own conclusions. Dr Samuel David 6 (6th generation) Bunker b 23 Aug 1815 (N.H.V., B.T.R. 2:184) Barnstead NH; graduate Oberlin College, Ohio; m(1) 2 Apr 1846 Macomb IL Aurelia Ann Van Ness, b 1823, d 1 Sep 1861 Peoria IL; m(2) 9 Sep 1862 Shawnee Iowa, Susanna L. James 1 was bapt 10 Feb 1633/4 in Slapton, Devonshire, England (b @ 1628; think Mayflower arr 1621, don't quote me on that). James 1 arrival is still a mystery but he first appeared in Kittery ME. He built a fortified home (Bunker Garrison) in 1675 in Dover NH. he d 1698 and is prob bur in one of 10 depressions in the Bunker graveyard, located about 100 yard down the hill from the garrison. We count 34 Bunker graves at the site. James D1 may be related to George C1 (Bunker Hill) and George N1 (Nantucket) but the connection would be in England, however that connection is unknown also. The 2 Georges can be traced back prior to 1515, through wills. Many Bunkers claimed connection to Bunker Hill, however the Charlestown branch is quite small. Living male descendants, named Bunker, can be counted on one hand from that branch. If you have other questions, pls feel free to ask, that's why we are here. gil gilbunker@snip.net
