My father, James Lawing Rumfelt, was born in Rutherfordton, NC. His father was Jones or Jonas Bloom Rumfelt and his mother was Moira Brooks Rumfelt. He had two brothers, Eugene and Paul. Gene is still living in Marion, NC. Paul is deceased. He had one sister, Mabel who was married to DeFoix Parker. My grandparents are buried in a small church cemetary in Marion, NC. My father spoke of going to Spindale when he was a child. He was born on 3/6/21 or 22 and passed away in 1987. I have been told we have relatives in South Carolina, Tennessee, and a variety of other places and that all Rumfelts are related in one way or another. I do know that there is a Rumfelt Street in Marion. I do not know who my great-grandparents were.
