Joel Bunch was my great-great grandfather's brother. Let me explain it this way: Solomon Bunch (b.ca.1783in VA.) and his wife Nancy (b.ca. 1783-5 NC) moved to Whitley County Ky ca. 1805. They bought land about 5 miles east of Williamsburg on Turkey Creek (just off Hwy. 92 across the river from a community call Dal). Their sons were Joel, Jesse, Craven, George Washington,and Gabriel, I can't remember the girls from memory. I believe Joel and Jesse married sisters; Jesse's wife was Martha. George W. married Mary Ann Bowling, dauther of Stephen and Anna Bowling; they had 4 children. Sarah who married George Faulkner and moved to Oklahoma, they changed their name to Duncan but that's another story, Ruth who maried John Rains, George W. Jr. who married Margaret Lawson, and Allen who married Sarah Haynes. Allen is my great grandfather. Mary Ann died from complications from having Allen. George Sr. then married Mary Ann's niece Sarah Rains, he was 28 and she was 16. They had 7 more children. Hope this helps.
