I found another BUNCH family, Saline Co. 1910 Census-- Tom Bunch,
he was a widower, and had 3 single daughters. (1) Mimia, or Mimie age 20 (2) Ethel, age 18 (3) Mary, age 15 This may
be my g.grandfather's brother-- I do know that he had least 4 brothers.(& the names are still following OUR 'family pattern')
Just seems strange, Tom's eldest, to be named
the SAME (or awfully close) as my g.aunt Jemima--called Mimie,
the daughter of Mathew. Census says everyone was born in ARKANSAS. I've came across several microfilms for the Saline County Census--according to the 1910 Census, my g.grandfather was
68 years, born in ARKANSAS, his father born in Indiana, mother born in Tennessee; 1900 Census says age 47, birthdate stated at
Nov 1852, same places as above. BUT how do I know wich one was right? If he was 47 in 1900, then this Tom was about 30. The 1920 Census throws me for another loop:(by then my g.grandfather had already died) it says my g.aunt Jemima was a boy, and my g.uncle 'Bowers' wasn't even on it. She had him around the time her husband died. (about1912-1914) but all of the children's
"place of birth for their father" says Arkansas, and Virginia for their mother. My g.grandmother was born in Ohio, in the 1910 census, along with her father. Her mother Margaret, was born in Virginia. Also, I've found some names that is real dark & sloppy, but the names look like BUNCH, and some of the
first names, I can't hardly make out, but some I can. One looks like Thomas R. Bunch,1920 census. Only one in his household.
How about a Byrome? Bunch--maybe close to Bowers, or Byers,it's pronounced the same.Byrome was 60 or 68--1920 census here,born in Wisconsin,with his father & mother both born in UNITED STATES! some help there. His wife was Cynthia,34,everyone born in Arkansas there. Children (1) a girl Cateo?11 years (2) John,9 (3)Rachel,7 (4)Leah,5 (5)James, looks like 23mos. It was too dark to copy, but I took notes. All born in Arkansas everywhere. (as in all the spaces for births) How about this one: A 17 year old girl named "Gutadu"?? close to whatever it supposed to be. Where 'head' supposed to be was "Border" She and her parents were all born in Missouri. (must have been on her own) I'm still planning on going to a genealogical library. Their information would be the most accurate, and readable. But, now that I've looked at every year available for me, I can look further. Good Luck, everyone!
