Mr. Bunch haunts my dreams. Since I discovered his grave, I am compelled to visit him when I visit my parents. At first his headstone was only sunk into the ground so that I could only read his name and that he served in the Spanish American War. The next time I went to the cemetery, I took a small garden spade and gently dug further until I could make out HOSP CORP. Which means he served in some capacity as a nurse. On Saturday I went to the cemetery again and to my dismay his headstone is now broken and was about six feet away from his final resting place. When a cemetery worker approached me I asked him could he please move the broken headstone back to it's proper spot. He offhandedly remarked that the owner of the cemetery asked him a few weeks earlier to fix it. A few weeks earlier?? I was so upset. Edwin G Bunch served in a very little known or remembered war. I do not know if he had children or not. But I do know he was somebody's son. Does anyone know him? Are you looking for him? You can visit this link to see a photo of his headstone. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gsr&GScid=685952&GSln=Bunch findagrave.com He is buried in Memorial Heights Cemetery in Montgomery, Montgomery County, Alabama.
