I assume from his dob of 1916, that Charles Bunch was still living "at home" in 1930 (would've been age 13 or 14 when the census taker visited). I don't have access to an online census index for 1930 MO, so can't check this for you. You will need to either go to the library or find someone with an Ancestry subscription to do the 1930 search.
In the 1910 census index there are 186 Bunch hsehlds and 144 Mullen hsehlds, in MO. In 1910 there were two Charles Bunch hsehlds; Charles W.& Dora, in Schulyer Co, no children; and Charles F. & Maude, in Camden Co., no children.
In the 1920 census index there are 199 Bunch hsehlds and 165 Mullen hsehlds. There were 4 Charles Bunch hsehlds; Charles W., age 68, Schuyler Co.; Charles H., age 61, Marion Co.; Charles M., age 39, Phelps Co., & Charles R., age 28, Jackson Co. None of these hsehlds included a son age 3 or 4. I did an exact name search, so the Bunch family you are looking for may be indexed under another spelling.
I suggest you try to track down a death cert. for Charles and one for Thena. Those may tell you more exactly where they were born (possibly twnshp or county) or their parents' names. This would help you narrow your 1930 census search.
