Kady,
It is so good to find you. There are a number of us Daughertys always looking for information on this family.I will be contacting you by e.mail and probably several others. The application I am talking about is the application of Mary (Daugherty) Eddleman. She was the daughter of James Madison Daugherty and Eleanor McGee (McGeeHee). The number is 17523 "Eastern Cherokees Application of Mary Eddlemen (Sic).
For share of money appropriated for the Eastern Cherokee Indians by the Act of Congress approved June 30, 1906, in accordance with the decrees of the Court of Claims of May 18, 1905, and May 28, 1906."Mary had previously applied under the Dawes Roll but was denied. She was denied on this one, too. This application can be obtained from the Oklahoma Historical Society, Indian Archives, Oklahoma City, OK 73064.James Monroe Daugherty, son of James Madison Daugherty, and Mary Eddleman, his sister, were first cousins to my greatgrandfather, John Franklin Allen.John Franklin Allen's mother was Martha (Patsy) Daugherty, sister to James Madison Daugherty. There were two girls, Zilphia and Patsy.
