Hi,
Elender Kays first married Meredith Blue in Benton County MO, they had Suel, David, Sara, Emma, and Lucienda (all born in Texas)
Meredith Blue died and Elender Kays Blue married David Bunch born 1812 in Tennessee.
David had several children from his first marriage (his wife is believed to be Mary? and she died) they are all listed on the 1860 Grayson County Texas Census, Note- Suel and David are listed on the census as BLUE.
On the 1870 Sevier county Arkansas census, Suel and David are listed as BUNCH, The elder David Bunch either was the adopted father of the two or they simply assumned the last name of Bunch as their step father.
I am currently working on locating adoption papers,
Note also David Bunch the elder one, was a fur trapper in MO at the same time that Meredith Blue and Elender Kays were married.
Some Kays researchers believe that they knew David but I haven't found any evidence of that as of yet.
I am sending you the family file and hopefully it won't be as confusing.
