Hi Dan,
In reference to your posting: I am very interested in your John Bunch and Eliza ?.
I am hoping that this is my John and Eliza!!! I have been searching for years and can find no more so I wll kind of tell you what little I know....First your John of 1842 time period fits better but the names of your John and Eliza having a son Thomas also fits. I will start with myself
Marcia Farmer,Crandell,Sturm bio name was Farmer,my father William Glen Farmer killed in Koean War, his father Robert Eugene Farmer---saidthat Farmer was not the original name possibly Bunch, his father was Thomas Edward born in Mo 1867, his ather was John and mother Eliza Hulen from Tn. I have an 1880 Warrick Co. In. census with this Eliza being a widow with two kids Edward (my line) and Matilda, She is in the household of a Calloway(Ky) and Sarah(Tn.also maiden name Hulen) Bunch and thier children, also in this same household was a Francis Fortenberry widow with one child. I take her to be another sister to Eliza and Sarah....if this info helps or rings any bells please let me know I am willing to share what more I do have...hope to hear from you real soon...Theword Melungeon by no means makes me want to hide my head or drop it even one fractio of an inch.......thanks ahead Marcia Sturm
