Hi, Connie:

Thank you for your reply. Do you know where your William BUNCH was born and/or lived? He was born abtout twenty-three years before my William Bunch, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to swap info "just in case...."

All I know about my William Penn BUNCH is as follows:

BUNCH, William Penn
b: 01 Nov 1833 Jackson County, VA (WV)
d: 22 Feb 1903 Wellsville, Franklin, KS
bur: 24 Feb 1903 Near Wellsville, KS (Walnut Creek Cem.)

William's obituary as published on page one of the "Wellsville Globe" on Friday, 27 February 1903:

The death of William Penn Bunch occurred Sunday afternoon from heart failure. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the home and interment was at the Walnut Creek cemetery. Rev. Hine had charge of the funeral services. The deceased was born in Jackson county Virginia in 1831. He had lived in Kansas for almost thirty years.

William's only known marriage was to my g-g-g-grandmother, as follows:

m: 31 Oct 1878 KS
TAYLOR, Pamelia Margaret
b: 04 Feb 1833 Near St. Paris, Champaign, OH
d: 29 Jan 1904 Wellsville, Franklin, KS
bur: Near Wellsville, KS (Walnut Creek Cem.)
Father: TAYLOR, Lemuel "Lem"
Mother: NOE, Emily J.

Although they lived in KS, I suspect that William and Pamelia may have gone to either OK or MO to be married. However, I have been unable to find evidence of a marriage in KS, OK, or MO. The marriage date was obtained from Pamelia's obituary, as published on page one of the "Wellsville Globe" on Friday, 5 February 1904:

Pamelia Taylor was born at St. Paris, Ohio, February 4th, 1834. She was married to W. B. Walker March 25th, 1852, at St. Paris, Ohio. To this union twelve children were born, six of whom survive to mourn the loss of a kind and noble mother. With her husband she united with the United Brethren church of which he became a minister and preached a number of years.
They moved to Iowa in 1851, and then to Kansas in 1864, where W. B. Walker died October 28th, 1875. She was married to W. P. Bunch, October 31, 1878. W. P. Bunch died February 22, 1903.
She died of paralysis, January 29, 1904, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Corda Steen, in Wellsville, Kansas, at the close of her sixty-ninth year. The funeral was held at the Baptist church, Rev. Hine officiating. Interment was in the Walnut Creek cemetery.

When William and Pamelia were married, her name was probably Pamelia COLLINS, as she was married to William H. COLLINS in 1876. He died shortly after the marriage, and I have no evidence of another marriage prior to her marriage to William BUNCH.

None of our family researchers has been able to find out more about William Penn BUNCH prior to his marriage to Pamelia. I would appreciate any clue as to his whereabouts prior to 1878, his ancestry, siblings, other marriages, or ANYTHING.

Thanks again for your response. If you'd like to provide me with more info on your William BBUNCH, I'll keep it in my BUNCH file for future reference.

Good luck with your search.
