Only marriage I know of before John Bumpus Jr was to Shubael Claghorn whom she married by 1689 (birth of first child) making her only about 18-19 at the time, if born 1670 as generally accepted. Hardly time for a first marriage. I "believe" you are mistaken (can't say with 100% certainty without further research)in your attribution of a first marriage to your John Butterfield.
