Are you familiar with the book "A Genealogy of Three Branches of the Bumpass Family" by William Moses Jones, published in 1962, printed by Firm Foundation Publishing House, Austin, Texas. It states that Deep Creek John Bumpass born in 1766, died in 1855, married Ann Tapp, 1794. There are more references to Ann Tapp--Epitaphs carved in a stone (North side)in old "Deep Creek" Bumpass Cemetery near the old home about 5 miles se of Roxboro, NC: Ann Tapp, 1st wife of John Bumpass, Jr. 1778-1825
