Hello, Steve. I enjoyed your very clear message about the descendants of Susan Bulyea. I note that they lived in Cambridge, New Brunswick. This seems to indicate that they settled there as Loyalists. However, the query to which you responded was about a Susan Bulyea, supposedly from Scotland. Can you tell us more about this Susan? I am a descendant of the Bulyeas/Belyeas/Bilyeas who came to what is now New Brunswick as United Empire Loyalists with the Loyalist exodus after the American Revolution. Before that, the Bulyeas lived in what is now New York State, USA, on one of the plantations begun by the Dutch. They settled there along with Dutch immigrants; they were part of the French Huguenot group who had left France to escape religious persecution and who went first to Holland and then to the New World. As far as I know the Bulyea name is not found in Scotland. Mary Bilyea Steele
