Hello Paul, You say that the BULMER name seems to have originated in Yorkshire. I have seen it suggested that it comes from the name DE BULMER or DE BOOMER which came across from France during the Norman Conquest about one thousand years ago ! Does anyone have any info or comments about this ? My BULMER ancestors are from the Hartlepool area of Co. Durham, but that location and parts of N. Yorkshire are all within what was at one time known as Cleveland (long before Ohio was invented!). Perhaps a DNA project can throw some light on the situation, but it might be difficult to get DNA samples from the Normans! Happy New Year to all BULMERS and their descendants. Ian White in Canada.
