Alfred,
I was probably wrong to have posted Elizabeth as being a Johnston without verifying myself. The info was passed on to me from 2 different sources, other researchers. The reason I felt comfortable with it was Charles and Elizabeth had a son, Johnston. Information taken from a page of the Charles Bullock family Bible, according to Genealogical Records Committee of the North Carolina DAR, found in a box of old deeds, wills, etc and presented to the committee by Nash A. Odom, a descendant of Charles through his daughter, Martha Bullock Odom, records that Johnston Bullock was b to Charles and Elizabeth Bullock, July 2, 1777
It was very common to name a child with his mother's maiden name.Another reason was the sources also said Elizabeth Johnston was b in Va. The Albemarle Parish register shows that Charles Bullock and Richard Bullock were godparents to Augustine Felts, son of Nathaniel and Ann Augustine Felts, Jan 26, 1762.The Bible records Nancy Bullock, daughter of Charles, b Jan 3, 1763. Unfortunately there is no place of birth for Nancy and we cannot be 100% sure her father and the Charles who was named as Augustine Felts godparent are one and the same, it does seem likely.I did find several references to John Johnston in early Va, but have not yet been able to personally verify he had a daughter, Elizabeth who married Charles Bullock.
This was a mistake I regret.I should have put Johnston in question marks. There is certainly enough misinformation without my adding to it.Thanks for questioning.Hopefully, I can come up with some kind of evidence to prove or disprove and I will post when I do, either way.
