Does anyone know anything about a woman named Vinney Bullock from Muddy Fork, Howard or Pike County, AR who was up in years in the 1930s? Her photograph showed up in my computer after I transferred my photo library from my old computer to my new one. I do not recall ever seeing the photo before so surmise that my old computer wouldn't open the photo when someone sent it to me maybe in 2008 and I forgot about it. Then, my new computer opened it. The photo is of an older woman who appears to be Indian or a mix of Indian, white and/or some black. She has long pigtails that are still dark but the hair around her head is gray. She is wearing a necklace of beads much like you would see on an Indian. The caption on the photo says Vinney Bullock, Muddy Fork, 1935, some numbers that are meaningless to me plus jpg. I tracked the name in the 1920 and 1930 census and in 1930 found a Vinney Bullock in Muddy Fork, but it said she was a Neg (I assume that means Negro.) I do not believe the woman is black. In the 1920 census her name with same husband and family is written as Vina.
If anyone knows of such a woman, I would love to hear from you. This mystery is baffling. I want to know who she is and why someone sent the photo to me. My great great grandfather was Blount Bullock of Muddy Fork, but I have never seen the name Vinney associated with any of his descendants. Any help or suggestions on how to identify Vinney Bullock will be much appreciated.
