Today I found the following
Records of Indentures & Guardianships in Shenandoah County, Virginia 1772-1831
Extracted from the Minutes of the Circuit Court by Daniel W. Bly
Minute Book 1800-1803; Shenandoah County Orphan Court
Jan 12, 1801
-Elizabeth Bullock, a base born child of Sarah is bound to Jacob Surber. She is about 9 years old
-Polly Bullock, of the same is bound to Philip Fansler, about 6 years old.
-Catherine, of same to Augustine Hollar, she is about 11 1/2 years old.
-Joseph of same to Jacob Rinker, about 3 1/2 years old.

Jan 13, 1801
- Overseer of the poor #2 to bind Joseph Brown orphan of John to Henry Brown to learn art of blacksmith. He being 15 years old Feb 1 next.
-Same Catherine Bullock, base born of Sarah to Robert Caw. She is 8 years old Oct 12, 1800 - former order rescinded.
-Same Elizabeth Bullock, base born of Sarah to Michael Ott. She was 11 years old Oct 11, 1800 - former order rescinded.

It is my understanding that the term "base born" means illegitimate. Any idea where these family members belong?
