Karen,
I just posted a note on this forum regarding Isley Tadder/Barlow and her unconfirmed indian heritage.Wish I had read your post first.'Granny' Barlow's name was most likely Sarah. She is listed as part of the household on Silas' 1850 census record. Her age is given (as I recall) as 85.This is where everything gets cloudy. The LDS records show Isley (Ilsey) as having the last name Tadder as you have indicated.Somewhere in the mountain of notes that are filed in my office there is a reference to Isley's father being named John Barlow.I believe this is where the mystery begins.

As I was reading your message, it occurred to me that perhaps Sarah had been married twice...can't wait to get back to the library! My line goes forward from Silas, son Silas J.M., his daughter Mary Ann who married Benjamin Hicks, their daughter Amanda Virginia Hicks who married Francis Mathis, their daughter Virginia Mathis, who is my grandmother.Cheers, T.
