Johann Christian Buhler( with English spelling John Christian Buhler )was born August 13, 1749 at Karlsruhe, Baden-Durlach, Germany. The names of his parents and siblings and details of his baptism can be found in an article written by my father and published in LA VOIX DES PRAIRIES Vol. 23 No. 88. January 2002 edition.
Karlsruhe is sometimes spelled Carlsruhe. Likewise, John Buhler's mother's name; Creutzbauerin may sometimes be spelled Kreutzbauerin.
John Christian Buhler was the father of Joseph Buller, Sr. (born 1781 Opelousas Post,Louisiana ) who married Eleanor Sideck. Joseph Buller, Sr. was the father of eight children ( Joseph 1805, Thomas 1808, Adam 1811, Celeste 1813, Eugenia 1815, John Pierre 1817, William 1819, and Hilarie 1825 )and his children made up some of the early Buller's in Louisiana.
Please note that John Christian Buhler never spelled his surname as BULLER and that he was GERMAN. Please correct your information if it shows otherwise.
John Christian Buhler died at Baton Rouge in Spanish West Florida in 1793.
