This is confusing....if your great grandfather arrived here in 1880, he couldn't be the Alexander who became a citizen in 1995....and, if your grandfather was born here, he would have been an American, with no need to be naturalized, etc. So, did you mean your great grandfather arrived in 1880 and became a citizen in 1895?
Have you looked at the federal census for the various areas? Cook Co, Portage Co, Wi, looking for further listings for Alexander, Sr?, keeping in mind alternative spellings of the surnames? Ditto for the other relatives? That would seem your best bet. Have you gotten a death certificate for your grandfather? That might will have valuable info on his parents, ...place of birth, etc.
