Searching for Hannah Bull
My ancestor, JAMES STEVENSON married HANNAH BULL in the 1770s or 1780s in New Bedford, Lawrence Co., Pennsylvania. My record of this comes from "The Journal of the American-Irish Historical Society," published in 1898, which cites her father as COLONEL JOHN BULL, of Chester Co., Pa. I have been unable to find another record of a JOHN BULL with a daughter named HANNAH who married JAMES STEVENSON (a Scotch-Irish sergeant in Col. Evans' Pa. regiment).
I know the Stevenson clan is massive, because there were "James Stevenson family" reunions held in New Castle, Pa. up until at least the early 1930s (my great-aunt recalls them). Unfortunately, I need some more evidence.
Specifically, I need a record of JAMES STEVENSON and HANNAH BULL's marriage, a record of their children, and a record of who Hannah's Bull's parents were and if and how she is related to early Pennsylvania settlers JOHN BULL and ELIZABETH ADDAMS.
Naturally, if anyone knows anything about James STEVENSON's parentage I'd be thrilled as well.
