I have traced my family back to Ireland and what I have is the they only spelled their name Bulger and Bulger. I have wondered about the various other spellings, especially those families from Ireland. There is a family from Germany that spells theirs Boulger and Bolger. My earliest ancestor is Michael Bulger. He came over with his brother John in the mid-to-late 1700's. I dont know where is Ireland they came from.
