My family is not directly related to yours. I visited Ireland recently and found two or three groups (one in Wexford is mine, two in county Mayo) who seemed all to emigrate to either the U.S., Canada or Australia by the end of the famine. I found my surname in the graveyard adjoining the church where my great-great grandparents were married in 1849-just prior to emigrating to the US.
