Hi lad,

Well i will try to translate the whole text for you... importantly to note the language is one used around 100 years ago and even for me there are some difficulties(the Bulgarian language has changed and developed like every other lang. around the world). So,

The author of this book Vasil Ivanov from the village Nered ( i am not quite sure about the spell) Lerinsko. Born 1890 year and graduated at Lerinsko school (Third level) and became teacher at village Lubotina during 1908/9 , Lerinsko. Searched by the Turkish authorities (for enlisting in the Turkish army), which caused him to flee to US. From there he return back to Bulgaria during 1912 to take part in the Independence War of Bulgaria! Vasil (your grandfather i quest) is the son of Ivancho Stoichev - (nickname Fudulo), the local man organizing the Bulgarian Freedom Movement in Lerinsko. This man (Ivancho Stoichev) who was for a long time prisoner to the turkish and the greek authorities died as a refugee in Bulgaria. The greeks killed his two brothers- Atanas in one fight between the local Bulgarian (chetnici) and the greeks antandards led by the captain Melisa at 1905 near the village of Karpeshina. The other brother Hristo was killed by greeks in a battle near the "Gini Voda" district (voda means water by the way..) Note, that the author states that there are three brothers and suddenly appears the name of a fourth (maybe it is just a spelling mistake and he tried to wrote 3 additional brothers). The smallest one Lazar was torchared and beaten many times at the greek islands prisons and died in 1917 year.

This is a quick translation if you are interested about additional translation you could contact me at my e-mail.

P.S. From the whole paragraph you should understand that the area called Lerinsko was and still is under the Greek government. During this period this area was mainly inhabited by Bulgarians and they wanted for the whole North Macedonia to be included in the territory of Bulgaria but unfortunately this never happened.

You should be VERY PROUD from your grandfather and his father, because they were real Bulgarians. They fought and died for something they believed in.

Best regards
Nikolay Todorov
