I also have ruin in to some of this problem. IN the old days borders changed. Because if wars. My G. grandmother was Hungarian and married a Bulgarian. I was able to get their Declaration of Intention for NA. On it her husband states he was born in Monastir Bulgaria. Every time I found a new piece of paper. The last name was spelled wrong. Ages were always different. One lady from a forum pointed out to me. How could a Bulgarian communicate to a Hungarian. Language is so different. Well she helped me find a 1910 census with name spelled Nicolo. I know it is correct because of all her children's first names are correct. . But on it her husband states he is from Austria /Magyar as does hers. So is he a Bulgarian as stated on his Declaration of Intention . Or as he states on the census record as being Austrian/ Magyar. One thing we need to keep in mind about our families, they were trying to survive. With all the different wars and borders changing. I know I can't help you. But I can understand what you are going though. Good Luck. Notify Administrator about this message?
