Need Help - Can't Discern Grandfather's Birth City - Olretenic/Chetenic/Bulkenic
Posted by: Ali Stabley (ID *****8297) Date: June 14, 2008 at 10:38:15

It has been a Looooooong 30 years of looking, but I finally found my grandfather's naturalization papers, thus his real Bulgarian name. So now my search really begins. (His name was Mitu Trifunoff, DOB 4-15-1899)

He has listed his birth city as "Bulkenic," but I cannot find that city in Bulgaria.

Does anybody know if that is the former name of a present city, or can you point me in the right direction? This is very important, because without the proper city we will not be able to locate his birth certificate, and thus, we cannot find our relatives, if any, living in Bulgaria.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Ali Trifunoff Stabley
