Hello Mary, I would recommend that you get in contact with Professor Nikola Charakchiev. He is a professional genealogist originally from Plovdiv, Bulgaria but now residing in Chicago. The man is amazing to say the least. He was able to obtain a certified copy of my maternal grandparents' marriage certificate from Sofia, Bulgaria. It took over three months, but it turned out to be a genealogical goldmine for me as it mentioned the names of my great-grandparents, including the maiden names of the mothers which has opened new doors for me in now five year search for information. I have personally tapped many obscure sources in my quest. If you would like, please feel free to contact me at gopman@charter.net and I will be happy to give you the Professors email address. Mention my name, he'll remember me I assure you of that. Also, if you have any questions regarding available sources, I would be happy to share them with you.
