my grandmother has recently told me that her father, Egnat, was bulgarian but changed his surname to Dick when he came to England in 1932. when asked about his bulgarian surname she said she could not remember but thought it had 'coff' on the end, which he dropped to make it sound more english.
i was therefore wondering if anyone knew of any bulgarian surnames which contain, dick+ov, ie Dikov? which could have been his surname so that i would be able to research my family tree
