Jordanov family name
Looking for any info on the Jordanov family name in Bulgaria. My ancestor, Rachko Jordanov (later changed to Richard Jordan) was naturalized in the 1920's.
Rachko was married to my great grandmother Katherine Swinko, from Poland, and they had one child together, my late grandfather Richard Jordan.
Rachko was kicked out of my great grandmother's house due to extra-marital affairs....we've been told....and he died in his mid thirties in St.Louis, MO from gangrene after being struck by a car.
My great grandmother never wanted to talk about him, but my grandfather always used to talk about him to me...Rachko was shrouded in mystery, and believed to have another family somewhere in either Gary, IN or Herrin, IL.
I do not know where he came from in BG but I do have some pictures of his peasant family there (dont appear to live by the beach).
If anyone has any info on the Jordanov family name (region of origin/history) or any info on the individuals mentioned, please reply.
Thanks a lot,
Rick
PS - what does Rachko literally translate to in English?
