I know your Dorthy "Dollie" Buie, had to be a desendant of Neil Buie and Dorthy "Dollie" Mercer....Dollie was her nickname...they came from NC to the Union Church Ms area...they had quite a few kids, their oldest was John Buie. who was my greatgreatgrandfather...if you look at the 1850 Copiah county census on rootsweb.com, you will find Dorthy. She is old, and living with the overseerer. I am sure there was no hanky panky...either she, or her kids, preffered for her to live apart...anyway, Neil and John are dead by this census, but her kids and grandkids are living all around her. All those Buies on that census are her kids...you will also see Resin Wooley and Elizabeth Buie Wooly living next to her...That is my ggggrandmother, John Buies daughter...The Buies have a very good history and the Mercers, if you try to trace them, did too. You won't believe it but the Mercers came to Virgina by way of ...Barbados....! They went down there to get involed in the rum buss. Anyway, no one spent a generation down there. Christopher Mercer was the one who went, he died there but his two sons left and went to Virgina...Joseph and Thomas...Joseph desendants formed Mercer University, and Thomas desendants..are Us!
