Buice Family Genealogy Forum

Hi Kathy,
While I was walking through the cementery at Sharon Baptist Church in Forsyth County GA. I found a grave with Mrs.Cpt. WM Buice on it with the date of death being June 1, 1894 and beside her was the grave of WM Buice date of birth Aug.1839 and date of death June 24, 1905. Another reference I have shows his birthdate as Nov. 22,1934 and the date of death the same. He married in 1854 to Adaline Webb who died June 2, 1894 who was the daughter of Sherrod and Elizabeth Webb. They had 10 children Sherrod, Letitia, Robert, William, Ida, all living in 1981 and the following deceased, Tullulah, Kitty, Dora, and William A. The following October after the death of Adaline he married a second time to Matilda F. Martin daughter of Jackson and Elizabeth Webb. I am asuming that Matilda had been married once to a Martin. My reference also shows me that Capt. Buice was in the battle at New Town Church, Mufreesboro, Munfordville, Perryville,Chickamauga, Missionary Ridge, and the siege of Atlanta. He was wounded near Marietta and sent home. He rejoined his command at Griffin, GA. after 3 months until the surrender and was discharged at Kingston, N.C.
I would love to receive a copy of the photo to go with my profile page I have on William Buice. I am trying to get as many family photos as I can so I can put faces with the names.
Sincerly,
Jane
