Marlin, I think your Simeon Buford is connected with my Buford family, & they are very hard to track or trace, the Bufords that wrote those books don't know who we are or how there is a connection. My ggggrandfather is James Franklin Buford born abt.1813 S.C. married Helen Sophina Gandy in Greene Co. Alabama in 1840 they had a daughter named Martha Buford b.1851 & a grandson named Simeon Buford, all of the Bufords repeatedly used the same first names & also married their cousins. Before James went to Alabama to get married he was in Arkansas, his marriage lic. stated he lived in Ark.I have found 5 Bufords in Ark. census but not my gggrandfather James, but I did find a Simeon Buford in Mississippi Co.Ark.in 1837 I have tracked this same group of Bufords from S.C. ALA. TN. Ark. MS.& Tex. & still no luck on who they are related to,but I think James & Simeon are brothers or cousins,I don't know abt. who their parents are.I will be glad to share what info I have on James & Helen Bufords children & maybe this will help you locate info on your Simeon & Martha. Cynthia Buford Hanley my email is chanley@hnb.com
