In the Buffum Family Vol. II, Margaret Thompson AKA Margaret Buffum b. circa 1633 was probably the daughter of John and Thomasine (Ward) Thompson. Margaret died in Salem, Mass. 12 Nov. 1678 and married John Smith about 1680. The book lists four children: Mary, George, Exersis, & Tamoson.
It has Mary as m. ____Nurse, but has no furthur information on her. Her sister, Exersis, has 9 children listed and continues for a number of generations.

Margaret was raised as a Buffum as Thomasine married Robert Buffum when Margaret was young. The book tells of John & Margaret Smith being "persecuted for their adderence to the opinions of the Quker's. Do you have the Buffum book? Margaret's mother, Thomasine, line goes back to Henry II of King of England. Margaret Blessing was Robert's first wife and they had 7 children. The two girls listed in the book were Mary and Debora(h). Robert married Thomasine (Ward) Thompson 11 Aug. 1634 in England.

There is a Buffum Family Association. If you'd like more can e-mail or post a response...
