My 5th or 6th great-grandmother was Abigail Buffington born probably around 1710 or so. She had a brother named Joseph from later documents in the Buffington-Marshall Collection in the papers of the Chester County Pa. Genealogical and/or Historical Society. My Abigail married an Edward Seeds and by him had eight children by 1756, when she and her new spouse, David Fling apprenticed my ancestress Ealse (Alice) Seeds to James Marshall for four years eleven months. Alice also had another sibling, close to this age, which I have not discovered yet, but other children are named in a document dated in 1758 (21 March) Joseph Buffington, brother of Abigail Buffington Seeds Fling, petitioned for guardianship at the orphans court of Chester Co., Pa. for other children named Abigail, Adam, Richard, George, James and Mary Seeds. It seems obvious that both this child I can't find a name of,and Alice (Ealse) were the eldest.Abigail Buffington Seeds Fling had a daughter named Phoebe Fling. This shows a use of the name Phoebe in this family...
My Alice Seeds md. Hugh McNamee and they had children named Job, Thomas, Hannah, Mary, Adam, George, Margaret (Guitte), Moses and Alice.I descend from Thomas and all of these children, who were born mostly in Hagerstown, Washington Co., Maryland, became pioneers of Fairfield Co., Ohio.
I have came across David Buffington, a RS buried in Fairfield Co., Ohio and wonder if anyone knows who he is?
I have figured he may be r/to Alice's children somehow, but just don't know how.
