Hi Lee, Kaye Cope Lanier is my cousin and we have been researching the Buffingtons' for a long time. I believe I found the family of Abdale Buffington b) 1800-1810.
I have this and believe Abdale Buffington is from Cabell CO VA .
Deed Floyd CO KY- 1.15.1815- John Cox to son Flory Cox land Sandy River;
Wit: William Buffington, James Smiley and Micheal Auxier SR and JR.
Note: I found the Auxiers' in Washington CO VA 1782 and in Russell CO VA 1790s.
Dedd 2.25.1815- John Cox from Samuel Smiley of CABELL CO VA - 60 acres left Fork , Sandy River , below Mouth of Rockcastle Creek., land purchased from Gilbert Christy.
Wit: William Buffington, Flowry Cox, Henry Cox, Micheal Auxier SR and JR.
The 1820 Cabell CO VA census shows Thomas Buffington over 45 and he appears to be the one listed marr. to Ann Cline .
They have a son listed as William Buffington ( 1787-1858 ) who marr.Nancy Scales.
Thomas Buffington here is listed the son of William Buffington died 1784 Hampshire CO VA son of Thomas Buffington & Ruth COPE.
