In 1880 I found John Gildn (Gilder) in the household of Samuel Buffalow in Henry CO., AL. He is listed as a grandson. But I don't think the relationship listed is accurate.

I have that Samuel Buffalow (he's listed as Lemuel on Ancestry.com) married Gillinah Gilford 3 Aug 1837 Randolph CO., GA.

Irby Gilder married Winneford Gilford. The had a son John which is the same age as the John listed in 1880. I'm wondering if John Gilder wasn't a nephew.

Samuel Buffalow can be found in the 1840 Randolph CO., GA census then in the 1850-1880 Henry Co., AL censuses. His daughter Bashaby married a Skipper.
Samuel was a witness on land deeds for Irby Gilder while he was in Randolph Co., GA.

Does anyone know anymore on this family?
