Oscar Lee Buffalo ancestors (Texas)
Posted by: Rose Van Winkle Date: March 09, 2000 at 03:15:49

Looking for ancestors of Oscar Lee Buffalo, birthdate unknown, died October 6, 1931 in Diboll, Texas. Married Rachel Edna Crager, who was born sometime in 1887 (?). She died on March 7, 1969 in Corrigan, Texas. I think they are both buried in Ryan Chapel Cemetary in Diboll, Texas. Their children, born beginning in 1909, are William Taft, Joel, Paul, Sam, Louise, Gladys and Mary Lee. The current extended family all live in East/South Texas.

One of my brothers is convinced that the early Buffalo family ancestry is from the surname "Buffalow", but I have found nothing on it. Interesting to see the spelling "Buffaloe", though. Don't know if we are all commonly related or not, but it seems reasonable that its a common derivation.

Thanks,
Rose Buffalo Van Winkle
