Hi,

Just found this website - so I'm not sure if you're still checking for replies. My great-grandfather was Andrew John Buehl (also spelled Buhl) born in Germany in 1839. I don't know if he ever came to the states - many conflicting stories. My grandfather was Ernest Konrad Buehl, born 1875. As children we were always told he was born in Germany and came to the U.S. to avoid the Conscription. Now this next part really stunned me when I read about your great-grandmother. My grandfather married Bertha Augusta "Schultz" (born 18787 in Germany). They lived in Bay City, Mi - where all ten of their children were born.

If you have any other info on the Buehl family, I'd enjoy reading it. Given that the name isn't all that common in this country, we're probably related in some distant way.

Janice
