John I. Budd and Gilbert Budd - NY

1)"Landmarks of Wayne County," p294, on Gilbert Budd of Macedon says that he was 'born in Sodus February 5, 1818, second child of John I and Elizabeth Spickerman Budd."A clipping my mother had, since identified in Newark and dated 1915, said that Gilbert Budd (John I's father) came to Wayne County about 1820 and bought farms for his four daughters.Although John I. seems to be the one back in Schodack in the 1820-1850 censuses, I'm wondering if he didn't make a brief foray into Wayne County as a young man.Have a number of ancestors, who seemed to do just that--ie, try a new place but settle back in the older one.
2)Also, I've done a little checking on an Elijah Budd (1823-1897) who is in the Newark Cemetery and he seems to be another son of John I Budd, who was in the Schodack household as of the 1850 census (age 27), but in the Newark directory as a farmer by about1867.
Would be interested to hear if you can shed any light on this.
