A more recent publication, "John Budd of New Haven, CT, Southold, L.I. and Rye, NY" by Mildred B. Herron, 2001, has as father of John BUDD, the immigrant, John BUDDE of Pirbright, England, bp. 22 Feb 1579, and John BUDDE of Seale and Katherine LOVELAND as the grandparents. Mother of the immigrant is conjectured to be Catherine BROWNE, d/o Anthony BROWNE and Mary DORMER. Catherine and John were not married to eachother. This was the conclusion after more than ten years of research in English records. Joan Turnure
