Thanks for the post....

I have to believe this author was struggling 70 years ago with the same mix of Johns that I am...

Born 1618 does not tie well with being the person of influence in the founding of New Haven in 1637... (nor, on a personal basis, of being the father of Jane born 1626). This John would have (probably) come with his father Thomas?

And as for the cited wife Catherine Brown and the other details .... more confusion, I believe.

Have now found a credible narration on John Budd the immigrant of 1637 at http://members.aol.com/bbrymph/genbudd.htm. I sure would like to believei it... alas does not cite the parents of the John discussed.

Anyhow, thanks for the reference... maybe the cited source Hist of Westchester County has info too.
