I just posted an old ad announcing a meeting to discuss a proposed railroad. This ad was run by Joseph BUDD of Newark, NJ, and the meeting was to take place at BUDD's Tavern. The ad mentions "tomorrow evening, the 6th," so I assume that it actually ran for at least 2 days, beginning on the 5th.
This was scanned from an original issue (NOT microfilm!) of The Newark Daily Advertiser newspaper (Newark, New Jersey) dated January 6, 1837, and you can see it online here:
