This John Budd whose wife was Rebecca Smith had a married daughter Mary (Mrs. Peter Baynton) by 1726. Say the daughter was just married and was at the youngest 16 when she married. This puts her birth date to 1700 or before. Her father was probably born before 1680. In 1726 this John Budd did not have any sons, his wife Rebecca Smith had died, and he may have remarried.

Indenture made between Peter Baynton of Philadelphia..... and Mary his wife only Child of John Budd late of Philadelphia aforesaid but now of Hanover in the province of New Jersey Esq & Rebecckah his wife decd which said rebekah was only Daughter & heir of John Smith late of Newport in the colony of Rhode Island &&c. Surveyor deced on the one part & Thomas Child, Joshua Wroe, & John Marshall of of Boston.....
