My family is from NY, Oneida Co. area. But their name is BOODY, and I have never been able to trace them back across the ocean to Germany. I know they were German and spoke German, according to all the census info. The names are Nicolaus, born 1854, and his wife Margaret. They arrived here before 1800, as their children were born in NY. This family moved to Eaton Co. Michigan with a group of neighbors in 1837. Do you think the name was BUDDE in Germany. I have also tried BOUTE and BODE. Any help out there?
