Sharon, you are exactly right about gedcoms on the internet & e-mail as a source. As to John Budd & his wife Katherine - documentation all seems to trace back to a couple of good old boys who liked to pull the cork at family reunions. JOHN BUDD 1599-1670 by Lily Wright Budd 1992 (at $80 or so too expensive) gives Kate as daughter of Thomas Brown (Desc of Sir George) & Jane Kirkham [p.518] but it is the same sort of either forced fit or wishful thinking that has been applied to Anthony and Mary. Yet another Katherine was a daughter of John Browne & Anne Gifford but I gave up on that one long ago. JOHN BUDD OF NEW HAVEN . . . by Mildred B. Herron 2001 (45pp) is the best found. As to John & Kate - she has worked on the only viable marriage record yet found which is John Budd & Katherine Butcher and gone from there. She makes a forced fit with a John Budd further back which I threw out the window and there are a few minor things here & there but hers is the best material yet found. I got enough out of it that I figure it was time & money well spent. This last mentioned was on the internet some time ago. I would put Mildred's name in Google & see what happens. Anyhow if you want to bounce this business around, e-mail me direct & I will be happy to exchange whatever. Craig Notify Administrator about this message?
