Thank you for the information on Gilbert. The will, of course, omits the oldest son, Joseph, who had settled in Orleans County and was presumably already taken care of. Polly (Mary) married Angevine (sp) Thorn, although I've seen some mistaken references to a Benjamin. Gilbert, Daniel, Underhill and Benjamin predeceased him. Witnesses were Philip and Peter Herder and Meshack Strait. For a while the will was filed in the Troy county courthouse under Elijah Budd, although I did eventually find it. To be honest, I don't quite see what you are looking for.
My notes show also Johns's will in the courthouse, but I didn't copy it. The will was witnessed by John S. Budd [nephew, son of Elijah] and Richard Steves. John S Budd and Hannah Budd of Nassau were administrators. He also had an inventory (as did Gilbert) dated 1833, Tunis (or perhaps Dennis) Herder (a Herder again), appraiser. That's all I have on that.
