David Wooten Buckner Jr.
BURLINGTON - David Wooten Buckner Jr., 88, of 1414 Collins Drive, C-11, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wallace, N.C., he was the former owner and operator of Neat-Knit in Burlington. He was a member of Andrews Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam Charles J. Buckner, of the home; daughters, Jacqueline B. Catlett of Portland, Ore., Priscilla Vickrey of Burlington, and June Robinson of Rose Hill; sons, David C. Buckner of Garden City, S.C., and Harold Buckner of Tachey; sisters, Mary Smith of Rose Hill, Susan Gallant of Greensboro, Annette Grimmer of Willard and Elizabeth Bennett of Wallace; brothers, Donald Buckner of Rose Hill and Charles Buckner of Wilmington; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, David Wooten Buckner Sr. and Lucy Mae Batts Buckner.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, with the Dr. Tommy Willis officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the charity of the donor's choice .
