I am trying to find information on Richard Strait. He married and/or had children with Lucinda Proctor from Pennsylvania. Lucinda Proctor is suppose to be full blood Cherokee.
Richard would have been born in Ohio about 1816. The mystery is, there are no pryer records of his family.
It is rumored that he may have had some type of trouble and changed his name to Richard Strait from Buckmaster.
Lucinda Strait is found in the 1860 Census as living with Richard and Susan Buckmaster in Michigan.
Richard Strait and Lucinda Proctor did have children in Michigan, children are Jasper, Peter, Susan, Edgar and Anna. I am a descendant of Jasper.
