Searching for info on JOHN (MILLER) BUCKMAN b:11/11/1841 in Germany/Prussia d:7/27/1917 in Minnesota He was married to ELVINA LORENZ (BUCKMAN) b: 10/5/1847 d:8/6/1905 They had 10 children all born in Minnesota Below is information I found in the 1900 census on my BUCKMAN line: Found in 1900 Maple Lake Census (pg26) Wright County John Buckman (57) b:Nov 1843 in Germany he is a Gen Merchant parents from Germany Came to USA in 1866 Alvina Buckman (52) b: Oct 1848 in Germany she had 10 children 9 living in 1900 parents from Germany came to USA in 1871 Wallace Buckman (28) Oct 1872 he is a clerk in a store Annie Buckman (24) April 1876 she is a milliner Libbie Buckman (20) May 1880 (must be Elizabeth) Robert Buckman (17) June 1882 he is a day laborer Mable Buckman (16) Mar 1884 she is a clerk in a store Ella Buckman (14) Feb 1886 she is in school John Buckman (12) April 1888 he is in school Max Buckman (9) July 1890 he is in school Per this census John Buckman sr came to the USA in 1866 John was naturalized & Alvina came in 1871 John & Alvina have been married 29 years and Alvina had been in the USA 29 years John here for 34yrs Parents of both John & Alvina are listed as from Germany Alvina is spelled this way on the census...but the tree I have from grandma Isabelle has her name spelled Elvina Now there are 2 kids missing from this census, Minnie & Frank. John & Alvina Buckman have a servant named Alice Ward (18) born in 1881 in Mn her parents listed as born in Ireland she does housework They have a boarder named Chas Aider (23) born March 1881 in Mn his parents are listed as Father from Mn, Mother from Germany Chas does Day labor addendum: found Theodore & Minnie (Buckman) Claessens in the 1900 Maple Lake census Wallace Buckman b:10/11/1872 is my great grandfather.
