The Willard Bucklin I have was the son of James and Martha (Aldrich) Bucklin and I calculate from census data that he was born in about 1799. His children were born in Gerry Chatauqua Co NY from 1828 to 1839 and his wife Damaris Shepardson died in 1848 in Gerry. I don't know when Martha died, but James could have presumably married Esther thereafter, although the places don't seem to quite jibe. Willard's children were named Clinton, Charles, Julia and Willard, b 1839.
If it is your James he was born in Guilford VT, son of Rev Benjamin and Patience (Horton) Bucklin
